What’s Your Garden Future? Growing Resilience in a Changing Climate
FREE. Click here to register for webinar.
Many of us see firsthand the impact of extreme weather events and climate change in our gardens. Master Gardener volunteers are also receiving questions from the public asking how to care for stressed plants and what to expect next. Communication research shows that it’s through these types of one-on-one conversations between neighbors and community members that real dialogue and understanding can occur about our shifting climate, and the term “climate change” itself. To help Oregon’s gardeners, the OSU Master Gardener Program has launched a new statewide climate resilience education and outreach project called Garden Future. Learn about the resources available, including the Garden Future resource website, a conversational email campaign, and tips for engaging with the interested public.

In cooperation with the OSU Extension Service, the Washington County Master Gardener Association (WCMGA) provides relevant, research-based education and outreach to the public about horticulture and household pests. This information promotes sustainable practices that minimize risks to human health and the environment. The Washington County Master Gardener Association (WCMGA) sponsors a wide variety of gardening–related demonstrations, lectures, seminars and workshops in various Washington County Oregon locations. Most of our events are free and open to the public. The WCMGA is a 501c3 non-profit supported by hundreds of volunteers, who work to educate the public about sustainable, affordable gardening.
